Mediating Effects of Resilience on the Effects of Client Violence Experience on Job Stress of Care Workers

Abstract
Objective : This study aims to understand the mediating effects of resilience on the effects of client violence experience on job stress of care workers working for long-term care institutions.

Methods : This study conducted a survey from April to May 2021, by randomly sampling the care workers working for long-term care institutions in B city. Final 174 questionnaires were analyzed through the SPSS. As the main statistical technique, the t-test and one-way ANOVA were conducted. For the verification of mediating effects, the hierarchical regression analysis was applied.

Results : The results of this study are as follows. In the effects of client violence experience on job stress of care workers, the resilience showed the partial mediating effects. In other words, the care workers with more violence experience showed the higher job stress. Once the resilience was put as a mediating factor, it lowered the influence of violence experience on job stress.

Conclusion : As the meas ures for reducing the job s tress caused by client violence experience of care workers, this study verified the mediating effects of resilience. Thus, based on the results of this study, this study suggested various social welfare intervention measures.
